Associate, Marketing and Development

Associate Duties for OAI will include

  • Assisting in the development and execution of strategic fundraising efforts
  • Facilitating meetings with potential sponsors, including Wall Street firms and Fortune 100 corporate sponsors
  • Assisting in the creation of marketing and development materials
  • Providing administrative support to client teams
  • Helping coordinate the production of strategic plans, final reports, and events


Additional Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years professional nonprofit sector experience in development (preferred) or marketing/sales experience

Associate Director, Finance

Position Summary:

Working with our Chief Operating Officer and Department Heads, the Associate Director, Finance is responsible for nonprofit accounting, finance, bookkeeping and general administration functions including:

  • execute and/or supervise execution of daily revenue/account receivable transactions and allocating revenues to Account Codes and Classes per budget and circumstances
  • execute and/or supervise execution of daily expense/account payable transactions and allocating expenses to Account Codes and Classes per budget and circumstances
  • financial reporting, analysis, forecasting and reporting for nonprofit clients
  • banking transactions including daily account review, ACH transfers, check printing, deposits, and supervision of bank account reconciliations
  • basic budget assumption coordination, design, input, analysis and reporting
  • work closely with external bookkeeping vendor
  • support for the preparation of accounts and materials for Audit Committee and Board meetings
  • ensure quick, accurate, and timely data entry within donor database
  • carry out donor data error resolution
  • manage revenue allocation and donors lists and supervise donor acknowledgement letters
  • provide routine administrative support and file management

Additional day-to-day duties include: mail processing; preparation and delivery of deposits; light filing; supply requisition and ongoing finance/accounting projects.  This position regularly works with different internal teams on a variety of projects and clients.  In addition, the Associate Director, Finance may work with OAI external consultants on business-related needs.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of finance/accounting experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-charge, QuickBooks bookkeeping, finance and budgeting experience
  • 2+ years Board and external client reporting experience, 5+ years of increasing finance/accounting experience and/or BA/BS degree in Accounting preferred
  • Attention to detail with good analytic and time management skills
  • A team player with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedication to nonprofit sector and to client service

Director, Strategy and Development

 

Position Summary:

Directors lead our client teams in various functional areas, creating and implementing efficient, capacity-building plans for our nonprofit clients and helping clients meet their development goals. Directors typically oversee the day-to-day account operations, develop team work plans, and serve as the primary contact with the client. Based on the needs of our individual clients, this position may require up to 60% of time/3 days per week spent at the client’s site.  In addition to team leadership, Directors are expected to assume an active internal leadership and mentoring role.

Director responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement strategies for our clients in the following areas: strategic planning, board governance, campaign feasibility studies, development audits, development plans, comprehensive development activities (campaigns, major gifts, board fundraising, corporate giving, foundation grants, planned giving, direct mail, event-based fundraising), marketing, and communications .
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including board members, staff, donors, and outside advisors
  • Manage planning and execution to include leadership development, committee management, and corporate sponsorship
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and fulfillment of contracted projects
  • Manage project teams and coordinate project work for rest of team; serve as mentor and coach to team members
  • Find solutions and implement new ideas for clients
  • Conduct strategic planning as necessary and work with boards to implement strategic plans
  • Collaborate with/participate in strategy, development and event management functions as necessary
  • Work with clients to recruit and manage their board of directors
  • Manage independent contractors as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • Minimum of 10-15 years professional nonprofit sector experience in development with a proven track record of meeting fundraising goals
  • Demonstrated experience with a broad variety of development efforts including event management, capital campaigns, corporate giving, and foundation giving.
  • Significant experience leading/managing staff or project teams and meeting established goals
  • Experience working with departmental budgets
  • Desire to succeed in a dynamic, demanding, self-driven atmosphere – entrepreneurial spirit a must!
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple accounts
  • Experience with strategic or development planning
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences, including board members

Executive Assistant to CEO

The dynamic and innovative CEO of a well-established and growing consulting firm headquartered in Washington, DC is seeking an exceptional and experienced executive personal assistant.  The CEO considers this to be a "project manager" position because of all the competing needs for their time and schedule.  

Primary responsibilities for this role are:

  • Manage calendar, including meeting scheduling & calendar maintenance 
  • Travel coordination (both personal and professional)
  • Prepare and process all travel expense reports and reconciliations
  • Assist with follow up calls and qualifying new business prospects
  • Assists others on management team with travel and scheduling, as needed
  • Coordinating and managing details of the CEO’s personal life–e.g. handling construction projects, real estate ventures, managing personal finances, monitoring investment portfolios, hiring staff and maintaining databases
  • Manage vendors on special projects in various locations/states, as needed

IT and Communications Associate

We are looking for a skilled and energetic professional for our IT and Communications Associate position. 

IT and Communications Associate Duties for OAI will include:

  • Working with our IT and website vendors, assist in the management of hardware, software, and provide desktop support to all staff
  • Troubleshoot both hardware and software problems on a daily basis
  • Working with the Senior Associate Director of New Business and Communications, assist with the maintenance of the OAI website and mailing lists and creation of enewsletters using Constant Contact
  • Maintain the phone system, office machines (copiers, fax, and postage), computer workstations, and handheld devices
  • Creation of first drafts of communications, including content for the website, press releases, newsletters, event invitations, marketing materials and other internal/external communications where needed

Additional Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years communications/PR work experience
  • Extensive experience working with office networks and information technology
  • Additional technology-related certifications preferred
  • Understanding of Windows environment (servers and work stations)
  • Drupal, or similar, experience preferred
  • Ability to learn independently
  • Ability to seek solutions to technical problems with minimal guidance

Senior Associate Directors typically oversee the day-to-day account operations, develop team work plans, and serve as the primary contact with the client. Based on the needs of our individual clients, this position may require up to 80% of time/4 days per week spent at the client’s site.  In addition to team leadership, Senior Associate Directors are expected to assume an active internal leadership and mentoring role.

Senior Associate Director responsibilities include:

  • Meet and exceed established fundraising goals for our client projects
  • Collaborate with the team Managing Directorand Senior Director to develop and implement strategies for our clients in the following areas: comprehensive development activities (campaigns, major gifts, board fundraising, corporate giving, foundation grants, planned giving, direct mail, event-based fundraising), marketing, and communications 
  • Communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences, including board members, staff, donors, and outside advisors
