Nonprofit and Fundraising Vet, Craig Shelley, Joins College Summit New York/New Jersey as Executive Director 

Announced on June 19, 2014, Craig Shelley, a nonprofit professional with years of experience successfully running and raising money for local and national organizations, has joined College Summit as its Executive Director for the New York/New Jersey region effective immediately. Shelley will manage the significant expansion of College Summit in the New York and New Jersey area where the college access group doubled the number of students served in the past year from 4,000 students in 2013, to 8,000 students in 2014.  To read the full press release, click here.

In the August 2013 issue of The Major Gifts Report, Steve Orr, Managing Partner at OAI was quoted about his work with New Alternatives for Children (NAC).  In the report, Steve gives his "sage advice" to nonprofits: "All nonprofits need to focus consistently on motivating, recruiting, and working their board of directors to ensure they have their ongoing commitment.  The success of a strong board is an art (grabbing each board member's passions) as well as a science (extracting resources from the board that can be in the form of knowledge, money, and contacts).  It is the executive director's responsibility to mobilize the resources necessary to make this happen and realize success."

On October 29-30, 2012, OAI Managing Director, Kathleen Loehr moderated a two-day conference in Washington, DC, The Power of Women’s Philanthropy Programs—Optimizing Your Donor Base, presented by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.  The conference set out to educate nonprofit leaders on how to optimize their donor base by engaging women actively in their fundraising strategies.
