Center for Security Policy
Our Challenge:
Center for Security Policy (CSP), a longtime partner and client of OAI, is a nonprofit, non-partisan national security organization that specializes in identifying policies, actions and resource needs that are vital to American security. Founded in 1988, CSP has worked to great effect in the establishment of successful national security policies through the use of all elements of national power – diplomatic, informational, military and economic strength. In 2008, OAI was hired for the sixth consecutive year and was challenged to produce a record-breaking fundraising event surrounding CSP’s 20th Anniversary Keeper of the Flame Dinner.
Our Solution:
The 2008 dinner helped celebrate CSP’s 20th Anniversary and honored the heroes of the surge in Iraq. CSP invited guests to Washington, DC’s Union Station for an elegant cocktail reception and dinner honoring General John M. Keane with a featured speech by the dinner’s Honorary Chairman, Senator Joe Lieberman. OAI assisted CSP to execute an elegant and professionally managed 20th Anniversary dinner by providing event strategic planning and fundraising, pre-planning, development, event management, event production and post program services. Utilizing our expertise in event planning and fundraising, as well as building off past support networks, the OAI team worked to engage new supporters (both individual and corporate), as well as engage all branches of the armed forces in this elegant evening event.
The Results:
OAI is pleased to have assisted CSP in creating a successful annual gala that has become the “must attend event” among domestic and international dignitaries, Members of Congress, military officials and leaders in the national security community. The 2008 Anniversary Celebration for CSP was a complete fundraising success for OAI and CSP—collaboratively raising over 7% of additional revenue from 2007 to 2008, and opening the doors for over 350 attendees. The accomplishments of the 2008 event have paved the road for additional successes in the planning of the 2009 Dinner, which will be OAI’s seventh Keeper of the Flame Dinner with CSP – confirmed for Union Station in late October of 2009.

"We've worked with OAI for many years now, and the longevity of our partnership is no accident. They consistently provide a level of effort and excellence that, year after year, yields outstanding events." -Mark Donovan, Vice Chairman, Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities
