Former DC Mayor Adrian M. Fenty Appointed Senior Consultant
WASHINGTON, DC (April 20, 2011) — Orr Associates Inc. (OAI) announces a new partnership with former Washington, DC mayor, Adrian M. Fenty. With strong community networks and connections to education, healthcare, and government decision-makers, Fenty is a valuable asset for the Washington, DC firm and its clients.
Fenty, a native Washingtonian, has been involved in Washington's political and philanthropic community throughout his career. Fenty was the youngest mayor in the city’s history, serving from 2007 to 2011. Prior to becoming Mayor, Fenty served two terms as a Council member for DC where he quickly became known for responsiveness to his constituents, earning the title “king of constituent services” from the media.
Fenty’s appointment enforces his continued commitment to urban policy initiatives and progressive causes. Beginning April 15, 2011, Fenty will link local nonprofit organizations to OAI—a full-service provider dedicated to helping non-profit organizations build networks and leverage their resources more effectively. OAI specializes in the areas of strategic planning, board development, development management, campaign management, event management and nonprofit management.
“This is an opportunity to combine my public service experience with a continued commitment to communities in need,” said Fenty. “I look forward to working with and helping sustain these valuable organizations that really make a difference to the lives of people.”
OAI Managing Partner, Steve Orr, believes Fenty will offer fresh insights and significant responses to the development challenges of the nonprofit sector. “OAI is pleased to have Adrian Fenty on board as a senior consultant,” said Orr. “His background and dedication to the work of our clients, coupled with OAI’s extensive knowledge in capital campaigns, strategy and management, will be a significant contribution to the nonprofit industry.”
"We've worked with OAI for many years now, and the longevity of our partnership is no accident. They consistently provide a level of effort and excellence that, year after year, yields outstanding events." -Mark Donovan, Vice Chairman, Marriott Foundation for People with Disabilities
