Project HOPE

Our Challenge:
Project HOPE's Health Affairs , the leading journal of health policy thought and research, hired OAI to develop the strategy for its 25th Anniversary celebration. OAI developed a fundraising and event management plan to raise $1.2 million, execute a high-level conference and produce a celebratory gala.

Our Solution:
OAI developed a two-pronged approach to fundraising for these special events: one, create an Event Committee, comprised of well-known individuals in the field, each with a specific fundraising goal; and two, work with the Health Affairs founding editor on fundraising outreach.

The Results:
By using this approach as well as capitalizing on the journal's long-term reputation in its field, the conference and celebratory gala raised nearly $3 million, which more than doubled the original fundraising goal of $1.2 million. The one-day conference, which featured top industry leaders as speakers, attracted over 500 attendees. The Silver Anniversary Gala was an elegant and well-produced celebration of the journal's 25 years of production.
