The Salvation Army, National Capital Area Command

Our Challenge:
The Salvation Army, National Capital Area Command turned to OAI to provide an objective assessment of its readiness and ability to embark upon a $50 million endowment campaign to benefit three of its signature programs: Harbor Light, Turning Point and the Solomon G. Brown Center in Anacostia.

Our Solution:
OAI conducted a comprehensive five-month Campaign Feasibility Study for The Salvation Army, National Capital Area Command. Through analysis of the organization's operations, creation and testing of a case statement, and interviews with key stakeholders and prospective campaign leaders, OAI provided in-depth analysis and strategic recommendations regarding the potential campaign. While OAI found that The Salvation Army was not ready to immediately launch a campaign, OAI provided a step-by-step plan to prepare the organization for a future campaign and overall success.

The Results:
OAI’s recommendations not only prepared the organization for its future campaign but also revitalized its day-to-day development operations, making a long-term positive impact on the organization as a whole. OAI is proud to have advanced the work of The Salvation Army and to have positioned the organization to more successfully fulfill its vision of “doing the most good.”
