Success Stories: Strategy

In 2011, GuideStar hired OAI to test a new membership program it was planning to launch in an effort to grow and diversify its revenue and membership base.
While OAI provided strategic oversight to build a new and exciting fundraising program, the NSCS leadership was able to focus on relationships with their existing partners.
OAI is in the process of developing a strategic campaign plan to raise $75M in support of Nelson Mandela’s hospital, while aggressively seeking and securing campaign leadership volunteers and lead gifts.
ServiceSource retained OAI in August 2011 to assess their capacity to raise the funds for a new Disabilities Resource Center in Northern Virginia.  The state-of-the-art Center will allow ServiceSource to meet a rapidly increasing demand for its employment training and habilitation services.
OAI delivered to the Excel senior staff and Board of Trustees a comprehensive and executable one year and five year Development Plan, inclusive of categorical fundraising goals, timelines, a yearlong work plan and budget for immediate implementation.
OAI’s recommendations not only prepared the organization for its future campaign but also revitalized its day-to-day development operations.

Calling on OAI’s fundraising expertise and capabilities for outsourced development work, in October 2011 the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region engaged OAI to serve as an acting Chief Development Officer.
