Biography
Christine joined the OAI team in September 2009 as a Director, bringing 15 years of experience in fundraising, nonprofit administration, events management and communications.
Since joining the OAI team, Christine has partnered with a number OAI’s clients including, the Excel Institute, Earth Conservation Corps and the William E. Doar, Jr. Public Charter School for the Performing Arts in the areas of development management and strategic planning.
Prior to OAI, Christine worked for Potomac Conservancy, a regional environmental organization. During her four years with the Conservancy, she launched an individual major donor program, expanded direct mail fundraising and built corporate partnerships. She also worked closely with the board of directors to raise visibility and financial support through an annual gala.
Christine’s previous experience includes foundation and government grant writing, capital campaign management and strategic planning at national and international nonprofits, including NatureServe, American Farmland Trust and Rare. She currently serves on the board of Ayuda, a legal services organization assisting low-income immigrants. Christine advises small nonprofits on building major donor fundraising programs, and has presented at the Chesapeake Watershed Forum and national River Rally.
Since 2003, Christine held the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation. Christine earned a B.A. in Chemistry and Physics from McDaniel College and a Master’s of Science in Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. In her free time, she sings in the Northern Virginia Community Chorus and enjoys biking, hiking and cooking.
