Biography
Bringing over eight years of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, event management, corporate partnership cultivation and management, and cause marketing, Kelly joined the OAI team in November 2006 as a Director of Marketing and Development.
Since joining the OAI team, Kelly has worked with a large number of OAI clients, including Project HOPE, The Metropolitan Club Preservation Foundation, United Cerebral Palsy, EVERYBODY WINS!, Higher Achievement, Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Care, Antietam Healthcare Foundation, Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School and Churchill Centre and Museum. Kelly has partnered with her clients in the areas of strategic planning, development planning, outsourced development management, budget development and oversight, campaign feasibility studies, board development, and event fundraising and management.
Prior to joining OAI, Kelly worked for Share Our Strength, an anti-hunger nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC. During her six-plus years with the organization, she managed and coordinated 15+ fundraising events for Taste of the Nation, a $4 million national fundraising program. As part of her role, she provided strategic planning and oversight for event fundraising and corporate sponsorship solicitation, as well as event planning expertise, for the organization’s volunteer leadership. Kelly also managed the organization’s annual conference, including program development and event logistics. Most recently, she worked in the creative enterprises and marketing department, cultivating and managing corporate partnerships valuing more than $1.5 million, including American Express, SYSCO Corporation, Tyson Foods, Jenn-Air and Samuel Adams.
Kelly graduated with a B.A. from The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs in 2000. Kelly is originally from Edina, MN, but has lived in DC since 1996. During her spare time, Kelly enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and hiking and running with her very spoiled dog, Gromit.
